34 Weeks!

I am 34 weeks and getting excited that in 6 weeks or less Jensen will be here! The pregnancy honeymoon is definitely over! We have entered into extreme discomfort, little sleep, bathroom breaks every 30 minutes, constant jabs to my ribs etc! Jensen has dropped and his head is hitting one of my nerves so I experience sharp pain when I move quickly or he moves quickly. Because I am so short I have less room than average height women. This causes a suffocating feeling in almost every postion unless I am standing. But on a very positive note it is great to know he is doing well cause he moves around constantly. I think he is ready to be done too and to make his grand entrance into the world! Nate was gone the past two days and I really realized how much you need your spouse in these final weeks. I feel kinda paralyzed in the sense that there are so many random things I can’t do any more i.e. get the laundry out of the washer, pick up heavy objects, lean over to clean, paint my own toe nails, put lotion on my legs etc etc. Pregnancy is definitely a humbling experience. I have slowed down big time. With 6 weeks left I can’t quite imagine how I can get any bigger or more uncomfortable but I am told it happens. Just trying to stay positive, rest when I can and enjoy these last few weeks with just Nate and the puppies. Jensen will be here in no time and we can’t wait!!

Baby in Big Canoe

On Saturday my good friends Angie and Dee threw me a beautiful baby shower in the Mountains of Big Canoe. It was such a special time with close friends and my Mom. Angie and Dee did not miss a detail. Everything from the table, centerpieces, cake, presents, food, devotional… it was just all so thoughtful, generous and appreciated. The weather was perfect and we had a beautiful view of the mountains. I had such a great time and will treasure the memories of my final baby shower celebrating Jensen. Now I just need a baby!

Jensen's Rooom

This past weekend we finally finished Jensen’s nursery. We had much of it done in May but had some small things to finish that we got done on Friday. I am so pleased how it turned out. The colors are black, green and cream. My Dad did the painting and along with Nate’s dad but up the crib. Nate did a great job with the shelf, curtains and shade. My mom helped it all come to fruition. We are so excited about the nursery and can’t wait for Jensen to use it!

1095 Days of L O V E

As a rule of thumb this blog is not meant to be about my deepest and most personal thoughts on life. However I will take this opportunity to say mushy, personal things about my Hubs. Today is Nate and my 3 year anniversary and I just can’t help but reflect on what has been the most wonderful 1095 days of my life. Anyone who knows my husband knows he is truly the most generous, kind, loving, selfless, gentle, giving, funny, strong, compassionate man in the world. He is the easiest person to get along with and is always fun to be with. He wakes up with a smile on his face and goes to bed with one too. He is a very happy person by nature who blooms where he is planted. We laugh together on a daily basis and 99% of our time being married has been filled with utter joy. I don't take this for granted as so many people we know are married but really don't enjoy each other and truly love to be with each other. We have enjoyed 3 years of marriage and look forward to so many more. There is no one else in this world I would rather be having children with. Nate is truly my friend, love, partner, companion, confidant, and future. I love you so much Nathan Arthur Elwell !!

I thought it would be fun to list a few of the interesting things Nate and I have experienced together the last 3 years:

*Worked together at the same company
*Worked together in the same department
*Traveled to over 20 countries and 4 continents together
*Moved out of 3 apartments together
*Bought our first home together
*Bought our first car together
*Raised 2 puppies together and now have a third one who is turning into a permanent member
*Gone to dozens of movies together
*Gone on countless Taco Bell runs at midnight together
*Laughed until we have cried together
*Prayed together
*Experienced 8 months of pregnancy together
*Found out we were having a son together
*Looked forward to each new day together!
My Handsome Groom... the Love of my Life

Last weekend I made a quick trip back to Wheaton to celebrate Jensen with family members and close friends of Nate’s parents. It was a lovely baby shower that so much thought and time went into and I so appreciated it! Can’t wait to bring Jensen home to Chicago at Christmas~!
