Happy Birthday Jensen!

Today was Jensen's 1st birthday and we can hardly believe a year has gone by. It is seems like it was just 5 mins ago that Jensen was born. We watch the video of his birth and it was so precious to see our baby boy. He was so quiet and content when he was born. He is still very much like that. He loves to be home and with a small group of people. He is happy and gregarious at home and more quiet and shy in public. He loves, loves, loves his books and especially loves to pull them all out of his bookcase and than sit on them and look through them. It is so precious. He is very cuddly and has been sleeping 12 hours a night since about 9 months old. He LOVES his daddy and his face just lights up when Nate gets home. Daddy puts Jensen to bed every night and they have such a special relationship. He has the cutest 2 bottom teeth and when he smiles it is so darling. We have loved every minute of being his parents and only hope his second year of life does not goes as fast as his first year. We love you Jensen so much!!!

Mom and Dad survived and ENJOYED our first year of parenting. Could NOT do this without Nate. He is the greatest husband and Dad!

Grandma & Grandpa came from Chicago to celebrate Boo Bear's big day

Aunty came to visit and celebrate with Jensen and so did Cousin JackO

Infant Baptism

Today was a special day for Jensen. At our church, (Church of the Apostles) he was baptized as a public expression from Brit and I that we are dedicated to nurturing him towards a personal relationship with Christ. It was wonderful to have many friends at the service, and both sets of our parents were able to watch the whole service online. I've posted the video of the baptism at the bottom of this post.

I think of Psalm 78 which says "O my people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things, things from of old - what we have heard and known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord , his power, and the wonders he has done. He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law of Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands". I think of the line above that says "even the children yet to be born" because we have little Bella on the way in February! To think that the Lord hears us pray for the salvation of our unborn children is a wonderful reaffirmation.

Jensen did a great job on stage, we were so proud of him. When Dr. Youssef took him, Jensen first rubbed his eyes, and then he tried to grab the water ladle that Dr. Youssef was going to use to pour water on his head! It wouldn't have been Jensen without something funny happening. We'd like to ask that whoever reads this, say a prayer for us and for Jensen, that we would be dedicated towards raising him in a God-fearing environment, where he learns the power of Christ. Today was an exciting day, but also humbling. Its a reminder that Jensen is a human being who was born with a sinful nature. It is our responsibility to try and represent Christ in everything we do. We also pray that the Lord would remain sovereign and protect Jensen in everyway!

Labor Day at Hillcrest Orchards

On Monday (which was Labor Day), Mommy and Daddy took me to the Hillcrest Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia. It took quite a long time to get there, with lots of winding roads and hills. But one bottle of milk, one wet diaper, and two cookies later we finally arrived safe and sound. But the party didn't start with the car ride. We did lots of fun things at the orchards. Things like...

Have Daddy push me in the stroller...

Giggle with Daddy during the wagon ride...

Snuggling with Momma as we road through the orchards...

Get a picture with Farmer Hillbilly after the wagon ride...

Pretend that I'm a redneck moonshiner...

But WAIT....There's more! Mommy and Daddy also took me to a petting zoo where I could play with little fluffy animals like my two doggies back home...

Fun with a little Chic...

Kitty Cat - MEOW!!!

Goats... BAAAH BAAAH!

More Goats....

Yep. Even more goats!

One of the best memories for me was when we were on the Wagon ride. Mommy was taking a video of me with Daddy in the wagon, but I think she may have smelled too many diesel fumes from the tractor, because she started to turn the video camera sideways...

And last but not least, please watch me in my first short-film feature, entitled Jensen and the Kitty Cat (in my stroller).

It was such a wonderful day! But I was so tired when we left. As soon as I got home, my Daddy put me to bed (after giving me a bath and a bottle of milk of course). I dreamed of Kitty cats, chics, goats, and lots and lots of apples. (and bottles of milk). The End.
