Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with Papa & Gram Gram and our good friends Mary & George Holman. We all pitched in. Nate made the mac & cheese and sweet potatoes and bought the fresh turkey, Mary & George brought the wine (and a wonderful alcohol free option for me!) and 3 delicious pies! Gram Gram did the rest (and the most!) and made wonderful dressing, gravy, mash potatoes and green been casserole. The weather was over 70 degrees and the day was just beautiful. The food was great, the fellowship was great and it was a wonderful day pondering on all the things we have to be Thankful for!

Helping Hand

Jensen is in a new stage of "helping." His help is a lot like our puppy Lola's help. Great intentions but not too much help! Things Jensen currently likes to "help" with include loading and unloading the dishwasher, opening the mail and as you will see in the pictures above, helping Daddy rake the leaves. He is so precious and we can only hope that when he is 16 he will be as eager to "help" out!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Nate's first tattoo!

It's Daddy's 30th birthday!

Happy birthday Daddy!

Jensen saved his money too for Daddy's grill

Fun to dress up, something that rarely happens!

Bella celebrated too! 7 months prego!
Yesterday we celebrated Nate's 30th birthday. It started with McDonalds breakfast and than a good nap and than I left to get my hair cut and came back and surprised Nate with the grill he has been wanting for over a year. We weren't gonna spend the money but I had been saving my craigslist money and decided that you only turn 30th once and Nate is so deserving! He was really shocked and super excited. It was so much fun for me to see him so happy. That evening Nate and I went to downtown to Capital Grill and had a fabulous dinner. After that Nate got his first tattoo. This had been something he has been thinking about for about 3 years but wanted to wait until he was sure about what to get. He designed the tattoo by himself and it was his concept. I love it and think he did a great job. It was so fun celebrating Nate's birthday. Can't believe he is 30 and I am going to follow in just a year... YIKES! Nate we love you so much!

Pat Pat

Handsome man

Love those eyes

Playing with his Ipod
Jensen is doing something new and totally precious. He is now "patting" Nate and I on the shoulder and the back. He usually does this when we get him up in the morning or from a nap. Sometimes when we pick him up etc. He just takes his chubby little hand and pats us on the shoulder or back as if he is saying "it's ok Mommy, it's ok Daddy." It just melts my heart. We had a couple off weeks with teething and crankiness but he is back in his schedule and is such a happy little guy. I love love love spending my days with him. He is learning new things everyday and it is so fun to watch!

Remote Control Love

Nate and I wonder why we buy Jensen toys because his favorite things are free! In the last month his new thing has been the remote control. He just loves loves loves the remote control. He will carry it with him all day long and the funny part is that he will try to still do things like get on his trike, read books etc. He doesn't understand why those things are difficult when one hand is occupied with the remote. Nate and I have to hide them cause if Jensen sees them he just cries and cries till we give it to them. Unfortunately he likes to drop them and break them so we are now looking for an alternative to the remote control love!

Goodbuy Great Grandpa

Jensen with Great Grandpa in June

Jensen meeting Great Grandpa for the first time in Nov 09

This past week we said a temporary good buy to Great Grandpa Wolt (my maternal grandfather). It was a bittersweet time as he was 96 years old (only 1 month from 97 years old) and had been in terrible pain. We were glad he was no longer in pain and that he did not have to move to the nursing home, but also one is never ready to say good buy to a loved one. I am grateful Jensen got to meet his Great Grandpa despite the 96 year age difference. Great Grandpa was proud of all 3 of his great grandson's and was looking forward to meet his first Great Granddaughter Bella. It will take time to adjust to life without him but we have hope knowing we will see him in heaven. We love you Great Grandpa!
