Prunes & Daddy's Best Friend

How do I get so dirty?
I love Prunes !
Reading with Daddy
So fun!
Hi Mommy
Smiley
Such a big boy

Recently Jensen has been dealing with, well for lack of a better word constipation! After a couple dates with baby prunes we had a successful entry back into the pooping world. Daddy was home when this happened and got to deal with the results. On a less disgusting note, Jensen and Nate have a very special relationship (it goes well beyond prune inspired diaper changing!). Nate’s love and patience is never more evident than with his son. He has been spearheading bedtime and Jensen loves to read books! He talks and grabs at the books and gets very excited about the story. It is so sweet. I love seeing their special bond and look forward to all the fun things they will do together in the years to come. I am so blessed to have these 2 special boys in my life.

Grandma Elwell's Visit

Last week Grandma Elwell came and stayed with Jensen for 2 days while I was at a work function (Yes I am going back to work part time and only away from Jensen 3 days a month. The rest is from home!!). Jensen had so much fun laughing, reading, listening to music and spending time with Grandma Elwell. We were so glad that she could come spend time with him since he is changing literally everyday. WE also appreciate her willingness to help us out as I transition back into the professional world. She cooked us a great spaghetti dinner and took us out to a lovely dinner and lunch. Jensen looks forward to seeing both Grandma and Grandpa Elwell in May when we go to Chicago for a visit. Thanks again so much Grandma Elwell!

Nate and Jensen were so sweet to me on Valentines Day! I slept in and was woken to breakfast in bed. I got to take another nap in the afternoon so as you can imagine it was a wonderful day! We finished the day by going out to dinner just the 3 of us. It was a perfect day! I love you Jensen and Nate!!!

Our Little Sweet Potatoe

Yummy Mommy!
Making a mess, but so much fun! Thanks Kimmy for the good food!
Jensen is 4.5 months old so we decided to try out a few first step foods. So far he has tasted sweet potatoes, pears, banana and avocados. We have found that he LOVES anything sweet (got that from his Momma!) and that he isn’t a huge fan of vegetables or fruits that aren’t sweet (Got that from his Daddy!). I pureed avocado for him and that did not go over well. I eventually mixed it with pears and he loved it! I LOVE avocado so I won’t give up on getting Jensen to eat it. It took some time for Jensen to get use to using a spoon but now he is doing great and it is so cute watching him explore the tastes of new food and seeing what he likes and dislikes. We hope he has a healthy appetite and enjoys foods that are good for him as well as some sweet treats too!

Best Buddies Forever

Jensen and his best buddy
Hi Mommy!
Football hold from Daddy when my tummy is upset
BFF's

It’s no secret that Nate is an incredible Dad. His gentle spirit, patience and kind heart are especially prevalent in his parenting skills. Due to our monitors I have the pleasure of hearing Nate sing Jensen to sleep at night. What a sweet sound that is! Jensen really loves his Daddy and always gets excited when he comes home for lunch and for the evening. They like to spend time together and I always know Jensen is in the best hands when he is with his Daddy. I look forward to them going to baseball games, eating hotdogs, and digging in the dirt together in the near future!

26 inchs long!!
Is Football in his future?? He is in the 88% for weight and 66% for height. We can hardly believe this is the 6lb baby we took home just 17 weeks ago! He now rolls over all the time, talks, laughs, screams (on occasion), has so much fun with Daddy and loves a snuggle from Mommy.

New Toys and such a Big Boy!

The Trusty Video Montor. Look closely and you can see Boo Boo!
Mommy what are you cooking?
Playing is so much fun!
Jensen seems to change faster and faster with each new day. It took him what seemed like an entire hour to roll from his back to his tummy (this was around 3 weeks ago) and now we put him on the ground and no more than turn around and he is on his tummy and now rolling from his tummy back onto his back. What happened to our little 6lb baby!!!?? About a month ago he also found his voice. He jabbers and talks non-stop. It is so cute! It was like one day he just started to talk. He is so interactive with us and we just love to hear his little voice! As you can see above Jensen loves his excersisor and loves to play in it. He will sit in it for up to an hour and just play and laugh. He is so sweet. Also you will see that Nate and I finally invested in a video monitor. Jensen just rolls over constantly and so quickly and being able to see him when he is sleeping as well as hear him gives us great peace of mind. Jensen is 4 and half months and is so much fun. Each day we look at him and just are overwhelmed by love and amazement. He is so much more than we could of ever dreamed up. He fills our life with incomprehensible joy. We are so grateful for his wonderful development and that he is completely on schedule for his age. We treasure each new day with our Little Man.
