Toys

We got so many nice baby items for Jensen and we are so grateful because he loves them all! He loves his little chair that vibrates and plays music and he loves his swing (Not pictured). He also likes to lay on the floor on his Baby Neptune Einstein and during the day he sleeps in his pack and play bassinet. We are so lucky cause he will enjoy all these toys without us and he does like personal timeJ. But by far his favorite activity is to be held by His Momma or Daddy!

My First 3 Weeks

Jensen is almost 3 weeks old. It is hard to believe 21 days have passed since he rocked our world with his arrival. As you can see below he still likes to sleep around 20 hours day (surprisingly long stretches are not occurring between the hours of 12am and 8:00amJ). He also likes his vibrating/music chair and his pack and play bassinet and his Daddy’s chest. He is opening his eyes and looking around more everyday and his alertness is fun to see. His favorite activities include eating, pooping and sleeping… ah what a life!

Since I Met You

Staring at my Angel
My Prince Looking at Mommy
Jensen Loves his Cubs Taggy Blanet that Miss Julie made him

Sleeping just like Mommy
He loves Daddy Time
Our Angel
So sleepy

Jensen is almost 2 weeks old and we feel like we have known him all our life and at the same time we learn new things about him everyday. Some fun things we are learning about our sweet Prince:
1. He does not cry. I know that sounds strange but he doesn't. He snorts, whines and flails his arms around but he does not come right out and cry or scream (yet).
2. When he first starts to eat he gulps so fast he usually chokes!! He must think we are gonna take the milk away. He is like his daddy, he just wants to make sure he gets enough!
3. While he is eating he smacks his lips. It is the cutest thing in the entire world
4. If we try to give him his paci or a bottle (when Daddy feeds him) and he does not want it he gets this really sour look on his face. It is the same everytime so we always know that nope, Jensen does not want this!
5. He does NOT like being changed or being cold!!
6. If he is fed and clean he is pretty much happy all the time
7. When his eyes are closed we think he looks like me. When his eyes are open we think he looks like Daddy...
8. He enjoys some personal time. Sometimes he is restless and than we will put him in his pack and play bassinet and he just loves to lay there until he falls alseep
9. He has several distinct faces that he has when he is awake and when he sleeps. Once in awhile he has a very serious, disturbed look when he sleeps and we wonder what he could be pondering on in his short 2 weeks of life?
10. He sleeps with his arms over his head which is exactly how I have slept my entire life. So fun!
11. He is THE LOVE OF OUR LIFE!! We stare at him all the time and can't believe he is ours. We are so thankful to God!

My baby is one week old! I can say without a doubt this was the best week of my life. At 1:37 am Jensen was born and life has truly never been the same. He has totally rocked our world and we just stand in awe and amazement of what the Lord has done and created. I had a a "memorable" labor experience that included Jensen being born 10 days early (He knew how much his Gram Gram and Papa wanted to spend time with him!). My water broke at home and because I had no idea what I was doing we waited WAY to long to go to the hospital. By the time I was at the hospital I was 4 cm dilated and in so much pain I wanted to die (not an exaggeration). Since my blood work was not done and I was having a surgery I had to wait to have the blood work done before I could get an epidural. I labored another 1.5 hours to 7 cm before I got my epidural. This WAS NOT in the the original plan hee hee!!!I can honestly say it was the most painful 3 hours of my life. All pain from this point on will be measured against those contractions. Anyone who has been through labor sands epidural can identify. Praise the Lord cause Nate and my Mom where with me every step of the way and I could not have done it without them. I cried out to Jesus to have him save me (LOL) and I am sure the labor nurse was humored by the situation. My mom was an all-star. She never was pregnant or labored or has ever been around someone who has and she was like an old pro. Even when I cried and begged her to kill me or kill Nate for getting me in this mess (Hee hee) she was so calm and just kept telling me I could do this! Finally around 1:10am I got my epidural. I am officially in love with the anesthesiologist and think he is the greatest living man. After that it was really fast and Jensen was here! When I heard his cry and they showed me him I cried so hard the doctor said "Ok Brittany we need you to calm down cause we need to put your uterus back"... ha! Not a phrase you hear often. From that point on the experience has just been amazing. My decision to have a c-section is something I would do over again in a second. It was absolutely the right decision for me and my situation and it has been really a breeze. I have been up and at it from 48 hours since the delivery. I am grateful that I was able to have a c-section and everything has gone so well. We have been home a few days and are getting into the swing of things. We are getting our nights down and enjoying around 4-5 hours of sleep at this point. We are so in love. I just feel so calm and peaceful. Part of this is having my parents here who are UNBELIEVABLE and so helpful and have organized my house and so much more. They are so natural with Jensen and I trust them completely. They are leaving Monday morning to await the arrival of sweet Baby Pelham. We CAN't WAIT for him to get here!! My mother-in-law will be arriving on Monday to stay for 2 weeks and I am so grateful for her willingness to come down. She will be such a great help!
We are so grateful to God for Jensen and His life. I really don't have anything to say about motherhood and having a baby that isn't cliche or been said. It is the most profound experience of life. It does make you wonder what you ever did before this precious miracle arrived. Mostly I have been totally humbled and amazed at God's handywork. Jensen is perfect from head to toe and to the think the Lord created his inmost being. How could we ever wonder if there was an infinite God? I look at my son and want to fall to my knees in praise to our Lord. Only an all powerful God could create such a miracle. We are so blessed and so in love with our Jensen.
